Strawberry Basil Mule

Forget about sushi and lunch meat… I really missed cocktails when I was pregnant with Edeline. Now that I’m not pregnant anymore (Wahoo!! Welcome to the world, sweet Edie!), I’m ready to celebrate with something summery and herbaceous. Cheers!

STRAWBERRY BASIL MULE

Time: 10 minutes // Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 medium or 8 small strawberries, chopped

  • 6 basil leaves, chopped

  • 1oz lime juice

  • 4oz vodka

  • 4-6oz ginger beer

  • Ice

  • Whole basil leaves to garnish

DIRECTIONS

  • Add strawberries, basil, and lime juice to cocktail shaker (or bowl) and muddle gently (back of a spoon will work if you don’t have a muddler - you want to crush everything up enough to release the juices but not so much that they're completely pulverized

  • Add vodka and ice to shaker and shake for about 45 seconds

  • Fill two glasses with ice and divide mixture between the two glasses. Top with ginger beer and garnish with sliced with whole basil leaves. Enjoy!
