Peanut-Free Puppy Chow

I know you didn’t think the OG puppy chow could get much better, but meet my peanut-free cookie butter puppy chow! It’s everything you love about the classic muddy buddies, but cookie-infused and safe for kiddos to bring to school!

PEANUT-FREE PUPPY CHOW

Time: 15 minutes // Servings: 8-10

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 1/2 cups Rice Chex cereal

  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup speculoos cookie butter (Biscoff and Trader Joe’s are my favorites)

  • 1/8 stick (1 tablespoon) unsalted butter

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

DIRECTIONS

  • Pour the Chex into a large bowl. Set aside.

  • In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, cookie butter, and butter in the microwave at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth. Stir in the vanilla.

  • Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and mix with a rubber spatula until all the pieces are evenly coated. Add the confectioners’ sugar in two additions and mix until everything is well coated.

  • Spread on waxed paper and allow to cool. Chow down! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
